The role

The Service Manager will lead the Service Delivery team to ensure high‑quality, person‑centred services that meet all Petrus standards and performance targets. The role is responsible for monitoring service delivery, implementing improvement plans, and reporting performance to the Regional Service Lead and other key stakeholders.

The post holder will shape and adapt services in response to changing service user needs and organisational priorities, while providing strong leadership through effective line management, training, coaching and support for staff and volunteers. They will manage budgets efficiently, maximise resources, and take swift action where performance falls short.

The role also involves developing productive partnerships across voluntary, statutory and private sectors, promoting Petrus locally and regionally, including through social media and contributing to the ongoing development of the Petrus Business Plan. The Service Manager will champion equality, diversity and inclusion, ensure robust risk management in line with Regenda Group guidelines, and participate in the out‑of‑hours emergency management rota.

 

The right fit

  • Experience working within a management role delivering services to vulnerable people within the charitable sector.
  •  Expert knowledge of issues faced by homeless people including mental health, addiction and isolation.
  • Solid educational background, include degree level qualification in relevant subject or significant equivalent experience.
  •  Ability to use KPIs to manage and improve service delivery.
  • Ability to represent Petrus within The Regenda Group and with external partners.
  • Experience building lasting relationships with key stakeholders and partner organisations.
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant safeguarding processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of funding streams and delivery against contractual outcomes.
  • Outstanding communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience reporting to trustees and boards.
